From July 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 Single Bound Studios will be accepting international orders on an experimental basis for Capitol Bindery made hardcover volumes, Snow Dog made soft cover volumes, Snow Dog made hardcover volumes and custom made dust jackets for both Capitol Bindery and Snow Dog hardcover volumes.
Over a year ago (March 2008) I wrote that I didn't accept international orders for several reasons.
1. In the case of soft covers I am concerned about the condition they will arrive in.
2. I have been unable to price either hard or soft covers projects and recover my costs, let alone make a profit.
3. Each international order means two trips to the post office to stand in line. One for the shipping estimate and one for the actual shipping after I have been paid.
4. I can't help everyone. Eliminating international orders helps me keep demand under control.
In a year when I leave my day job, I may change my mind.
==========================
Well, it has been a year and things have changed.
1. I have figured out how to double box hard and soft cover books so they arrived in mint condition.
2. I have costs under control so that I can profit from international orders. Some of the ordering information such as order size will be different than domestic orders.
3. I have decided to set aside Saturdays to gather shipping price estimates and to ship international packages.
4. I have the various production ins-and-outs mastered for all four products so that I can now handle an increase volume of work.
And I will soon be leaving my day job.
Pricing .and ordering information for all four products will be posted on this site by July 1, 2009. If you have any questions between now and July 1, 2009 feel free to email me at dpbanks@gmail.com.

Had breakfast with Kevin at Capitol Bindery. Picked up 8 finished books and dropped off 11 books to be worked on. We discussed at length the decison to accept International orders for the next six months. The big hurdle for most International shippers will be shipping costs. Most want a cheap price even if it means risking damage to the finished book in transit.

Another try based on customer suggestions.

Had breakfast with Kevin at Capitol Bindery. We discussed at length all the things he had to do to make this 15 volume set of Captain America 100-454. Every week I am amazed at how Kevin turns comics in various levels of grade into a uniform quality library.
