Got a call from Todd at Snow Dog in the early evening saying he had finished books and dust jackets and did I want to pick them up? Heck yes! So I went to Snow Dog and ended up chatting with Todd about various things until near 8:00 pm.

Capitol Bindery and Snow Dog continue to discuss ways to work together. More details to come.
Stayed up late getting books photographed and packed in order to make room for new projects arriving every day.
9/28
Worked on answering the backlog of emails and general paperwork. Interest in what we do at Capitol Bindery and Snow dog continues to grow. And customers I haven't heard from in a year or so are returning. Life is good.

The final issue of Wednesday comics is about to be published. Capitol Bindery is offering a reduced price on binding this series if they do ten copies at one time.
Specifics: Black buckram with Silver foil stamping. It will have a half-inch square spine. A Wednesday Comics logo die will be stamped on the cover. The words Wednesday Comics will be stamped on the spine.
The cost is $90.00 per book. This covers the cost of:
- hand-sewing and binding the issues
- making a die
- shipping the finished book back to you.
If you would to participate, please email to get on the current list of the next list.
Here is a mockup of the book.

Spent the rest of the day working on designs for four Flash volumes.

Had breakfast with Kevin and Scott of Capitol Bindery and Bret from a friendly competitor located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dropped off 11 books to work on and picked up three finished books.
We talked at length about the possible changes at LBC and if Capitol bindery is willing to offer a no frills book. The short answer is no. Kevin would prefer to create books they way he thinks they ought to be created. So no changes at Capitol Bindery.
Bret however wants to get into binding comics. So I will be doing a test with him for ten books with no-frills. He thinks we can offer a no-frills book for $25.00. Once I get the ten books back I will ask for beta testers to judge the books. If you want to be one of the judges, send me an email. Bret has asked me to consider repping his firm much the same way I do Capitol Bindery and Snow Dog. I said I would give it some thought. I will write more as details become available.
Here is an example of a comic I have never seen before. Not my cup of tea but I still enjoy seeing new things. These comics were of varying widths so Kevin had to pre-trim each comic individually in order for the volume to come out in a uniform format.

Another Swamp Thing volume. Something else that I missed when it first came out.

Yes, here is another Miracleman volume.

Five new books arrived to be made into Capitol Bindery hardcover volumes.
In the evening I prepped new books and began answering a new batch of emails.
9/16
I have been receiving quite a few messages at both of my email addresses regarding the news of LBC’s possible sale and their discontinuing the service of binding comics for individual customers. I am sorry to hear that might be the case. LBC offered a great product for the price.
I will be meeting with Kevin and Scott at Capitol Bindery on Saturday morning to discuss what we might do to help. This might include offering a no-frills book at a lower price point. Later on Saturday I will meet with Todd at Snow Dog to see what he might want to do.
9/15
